Lovely friendly hotel with great history
9.0A lovely family hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
− The hotel is a little dated, but the history and character of the building really made it special. You could feel its charm and heritage throughout the stay.
All ok but the window in my room definitely needs painting
8.0It was fine
− A bit more choice

8.0Size of rooms
− Sink taps very difficult to turn on and off. No air con. No drinking water in room.
Expensive at £95 for what is was
5.0The room was clean, bed comfortable and towels lovely. Breakfast was good for continental breakfast
− The room was very dated and dingy looking, with repairs required. The floor boards are extremely creaky and hence the guests upstairs could be heard from very early morning as every stomp sounded like they were coming through the floor. my floors were also very creaky. No BBC on TV. The bathroom was clean but all the taps were old and difficult to get the cold water to run, but the hot tap to the sink came through so fast, hot and splashed out of the sink. Could not regulate the water to the mixer head on the bath taps. It was mainly very hot and almost scolding, the water ran all over the floor as the curtain would not sit in the bath, it was a dangerous and awful time to wash, by a person like me who practices Health and Safety for a living! I not a picky person, but the whole room needs uplighting and the bathroom taps on both sink and bath need urgent attention and should not be advertised as having a shower.
Lovely.
9.0Lovely, clean hotel. Conveniently placed in the village.
− Not many things to do in the village itself, the property was nice.
Great location. Room could be improved.
3.0Great location as always
− Room really dated and shower near on inaccessible (206) due to stair case. Water and electric went off too during the stay. Will stay here again due to the location just not upto standards of other rooms. (We had to shower in 218) which was a much more up to date bathroom and not excessively hot.
The property is located on the first and second floor in a building with no elevator.
Please note, meals are not available in the restaurant on Sunday nights or Monday daytime or evening.
