Comfortable, but expensive.

Use of swimming pool. Pool towels provided with separate towels for shower. Good fridge. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bed. Quiet area. Pleasant gardens.

− No WiFi. Poor surrounding roads and entrance path. Lots of small problems that were inconsequential: Bathroom door didn't close properly because of poor fit. Gap around window. Basin tap not fastened to sink. Bedroom door fitted on the wrong way round. Some stove hobs wouldn't light. No bedside tables or lights. No electrical sockets near bed. Nowhere to hang towels. Supposed King Size bed was actually two single beds next to each other with thin sponge mattress on top. No restaurants or supermarkets nearby.

No water, unprofessional host

The property itself is a freshly renovated and nice cabine with kitchen and a decently sized bed.

− Getting there was a bit of a struggle because the GPS location shown on Booking is not correct, the owner could not speak English and was very unprofessional in helping us. In fact he was not even sure, that we booked 2 nights so we spent 3 hours waiting, trying to explain and were not sure if we would have accomodation for the night or not. As soon as it was ready it was great… for one night, second day we had no water, the host again, not reachable didn’t pick up the phone and at night he messaged us that his relative would come fix the problem, but that did not happen. So in the end we had to throw away food we bought for cooking and had a very unpleasant stay here. If that is not enough, the host wanted to scam us and charge 100.000 Colones from our card, which is 181$ instead of the 100$ that we had on booking. Make sure you have cash when you come here even if he says that you can pay by card, but I would not recommend it to anybody.

A New Little Gem.

Very well equipped kitchen in the cabin. High end and new cooktop, microwave, and fridge. Coffee maker, can opener, wine opener. Well thought out. King bed. Several towels. Patio with chairs and table. Quiet, rural location. Bed was comfortable. Bring all your food and coffee. Photos provided by Don Luis are accurate.

− No signage at the corner or at the site. Follow sign to Chalet San Juanillo. The access road from the corner is a bit rugged but we made it with a car and it is probably only 500m. A neighbour’s dog was a bit barky but never woke me up thankfully.
