− Small and dated bathroom , room cleanliness not as expected
An amazing Roman stay
9.0I stayed at Hotel Donna Francesca during my latest trip to Rome, and overall I had a very pleasant experience. The room was quite small, but it was perfectly suitable for a short city break. The bed was very comfortable, and both the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, and the complimentary amenities were a nice touch. The location is one of the hotel’s biggest advantages. It is in a very safe, central area, just a few minutes’ walk from Repubblica metro station, with easy access to Rome’s main historical attractions, shopping streets, and restaurants. For the price, it offers excellent value for money. I also loved the character of the building. Once you enter the main gate, you’re welcomed by a beautiful statue, and there’s another one at the entrance to the hotel itself. It has that classic Roman charm and immediately makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere with history and character. I also liked their breakfast concept, as it is delivered directly to your room, which was a nice touch. However, I think the hotel could provide clearer guidance during check-in on how the breakfast ordering system works. I had to ask about it on both mornings, and even on my last day I still wasn’t completely sure how it was supposed to work. On the day of check-out, they kindly allowed me to leave my luggage, which I really appreciated. There isn’t a dedicated luggage room, but they were happy to store my suitcase for a few hours. My only real downside was that my room was very close to the entrance, so I was disturbed by noise, especially in the mornings, which made it difficult to sleep in. Overall, despite these minor points, I had a lovely stay. It’s a clean, comfortable hotel with a fantastic location, friendly staff, and excellent value for money. I would definitely consider staying here again on a future trip to Rome.
− What I didn’t like: My room was located very close to the entrance, so it could be quite noisy, especially in the mornings. I also found the breakfast ordering process a bit confusing, as it wasn’t clearly explained during check-in. A little more guidance on how it works would make the experience even better.
