A stylish hotel with great breakfast, beautiful views, and very convenient transport

The hotel is overall great and excellent value for money. It is quite stylish, with fantastic views from the terrace where breakfast is served. The breakfast itself was really, really good, with plenty of variety — not just a typical continental-style breakfast. There is also a nice small buffet area near the entrance, where you can have coffee, lemonade, or something sweet, as well as a pleasant shared space to sit. There are also some very nice cats around the hotel. The view from the room was also great. The location is fantastic: you can easily reach the tram, bus, or ferry/waterbus, all within about 300 metres from the hotel. Balat is right there too — it is quite crowded and touristy, but still a very interesting neighbourhood, and other parts of the city are easily accessible by public transport. A taxi can also stop right in front of the hotel without any problem.

− The air conditioning broke down during our stay, and it took five days to repair it, which was a major inconvenience during the June heatwave. Fortunately, the hotel made up for this, so despite the issue, we do not hold it against them. The room was nice overall, although some of the furnishings and details are beginning to show their age, especially a small section of the floor near the bathroom entrance. There were also a few practical inconveniences: the blinds did not close fully, and because the window was very large, the morning light woke us up quite early. On one of the other windows, the curtains could not be closed properly at all. It is also worth noting that the terrace could only be used during breakfast, as later in the day the restaurant started operating there. Another small issue was that the soap, shampoo, and conditioner were not labelled, so it was not clear which was which. Finally, if you sleep with the window open (which we had to do due to the non-working air conditioning), it can be very noisy, as the hotel is located next to a very busy street.

Good choice for Istanbul

Breakfast on the roof was the highlight of the stay. The lady that runs the breakfast area is a real star! Location wise it can't be beaten, lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk, the metro/tram is a 100m away.

− Third floor rooms have little/no sound proofing. As guests left the restaurant it woke the whole floor and it went on for 20 minutes.
