It is deceptively spacious — we could be communal when we wanted while still having private or quiet spaces. The location, once you get the hang of narrow Scottish country roads, was so convenient to Loch Lomond, Stirling, Glasgow, and Edinburgh, while offering glimpses of smaller villages like Thornhill, Doune, and Callander, all of which were truly charming. But, far and away, pick Muir Estate for the hosts and hospitality. Claire and Alick provide world class responsiveness and service and are so friendly and warm that our family found meeting them to be one of the true highlights of the trip. And Claire’s cooking is a must-try and very reasonably priced for the exceptional quality and thoughtful extras.

− That we had to leave. Really and truly, we were all sad to go — we felt so at home and so welcome. All good things must come to an end, and that’s certainly true of vacation, but that reality is the only negative I can even think of with respect to Muir Estate.

We've just had the most incredible stay at Clare and Allick's stunning Muir estate! The setting is truly idyllic and peaceful - it was perfect for a special family who were visiting from Seattle. The lodge was beautifully appointed with everything we needed, from high-quality utensils and bedding to comfortable furniture. The cleanliness was spotless!

This was a family holiday including our 3 grandchildren, the first time we were all together as a family, Claire and Alick were indeed exceptional hosts meeting us at the property on arrival, the lodge was immaculate and provisions left were fabulous, the highlight was Alick taking us to feed the deer something that will remain as precious memories for us all, the whole experience was like nothing before, it was a fantastic experience for all of us cant wait to go back everything about this lodge is first class and would highly recommend missing it all so much, thanks again to our wonderful hosts.
