Great Spot Near the NP!

Denali Cabins are conveniently located near Denali NP. They offer a shuttle to the park but we had a car and thus didn't use it. The on-site restaurant was convenient for a post hike drink, snack or even dinner. The on-site coffee shop was a great stop in the morning, although the barista could have been friendlier. She always seemed confused or lost in thought. Additionally, Liz at the front desk was a huge help. Shortly before check in, I received a notification that there was construction occurring on property starting at 7 AM. I called and requested we be put in a quieter area and she delivered, we were quite literally as far away from any construction as possible, which I greatly appreciated. We didn’t make use of the fire pit, hot tub or sauna but definitely saw others enjoying.

− I wish the rooms offered king or queen beds. The bathrooms could have used a *bit* of updating but were completely fine. Also wished there was a mini fridge in the room to keep waters and over beverages cool but we made do with a cooler and the ice maker by the restaurant.

Super comfortable beds and pillows. Each cabin is a separate unit with no shared walls. Some people said they could hear road noise, but I didn't. It was quiet enough. The heat worked and there were plenty of blankets (it was quite cold outside). The shuttle van was very convenient. It goes all over the place: train depot, the boardwalk (shops and restaurants, park entrance (ranger station). There was a water station with unlimited filtered water to fill up your water bottles. Very convenient to have the coffee shop and restaurant on the premises. The coffee shop also has sandwiches and breakfast items. It is a good, slightly cheaper option to the restaurant. Super friendly staff at the front desk, shuttle drivers (shout out to Craig and his wife), coffee shop staff and restaurant staff.

− No desk or chair inside the rooms. Had to sit on the bed (which is quite high) to change shoes, socks. No place to set a laptop. Coffee shop hours are limited - especially in the afternoons. I never saw what their hours were - not posted anywhere. Regarding the restaurant, on two of my three nights, they hosted some huge travel groups which occupied almost the entire seating capacity. I was forced to eat somewhere else as a result. Could have used some help taking bags to and from cabins. I found out (too late) there are four wheeled carts to dump your luggage in. That still required effort. Prices are sky high. Lodging, food, everything. Welcome to Denali Park.

Clean and convenient

The property is clean and comfortable. The location is within 10 minutes of Denali park.

− Room had full size beds which are small for two people. The breakfast was average.

Cozy cabin near the park entrance with convenient shuttle transportation.

Cozy little cabin with bathroom. Heat worked well as it was cold outside. Hot water worked. Shuttle service to various places is very convenient. Front desk staff (Liz plus one other ?) and shuttle drivers (Craig and ?) are very nice, knowledgeable and professional. Restaurant opens a little late (7 am) but special orders can be arranged the night before and they serve quickly when requested.

− Wifi is slow and not secure. No chair or stool to change shoes and socks or any table for laptop.

Overall, it was a relaxing and cozy place to sleep.

− That you really couldn’t watch anything on tv and the rooms smelled old.
