Hugely disappointing 3 night stay. At 850 dollars per night we thought this woukd be one of our highlights in New Zealan
4.0The host Heidi was very welcoming
− The location is a real issue - set back just 30 metres from the number 1 expressway on one side and a freight railway line on the other - the noise from traffic is unacceptable and not mentioned. This is not ‘5 star Luxury accommodation’. At best 3 star. It is a guest house and facilities in the room we stayed in (Dormer Room) were basic and very dated. Whilst the house is old and characterful the rooms are in serious need of renovation/upgrade. For example the room was very hot 28c and no air conditioning; The bed was uncomfortable and didnt feel like it had been upgraded in last 30 years; carpet old and stained. Despite asking for a change of room or refund we were told this would not be possible.
