Overall enjoyable but housekeeping was severely lacking
4.0Overall, our stay was pleasant, but the experience was a mix of positives and negatives. The hotel itself was clean and well-maintained. The front desk staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our king room was spacious, comfortable, and exactly what you would expect for this type of hotel. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the housekeeping staff. The hotel has a policy of changing bed linens every three days for extended stays, which is perfectly reasonable—but guests are never informed of this policy. More concerning was the lack of basic housekeeping. Staff came into our room daily to replace towels, but they simply tossed the clean towels onto the bathroom counter. Wastebaskets were never emptied, toiletries and cups were not replenished, and there was no vacuuming or any actual cleaning during our week-long stay. Despite multiple complaints to the front desk, the housekeeping service never improved. The complimentary breakfast was average. If you stick with the fruit, yogurt, and cereal, you’ll be satisfied, but the hot items were nothing special. The hotel also has a small casino, which we didn’t visit, along with a cozy bar and restaurant that opens daily at 3:00 p.m. The food was typical but tasty bar fare, and the live entertainment created a nice atmosphere. A nice bonus was the on-site laundry room, which was very convenient for a longer stay. The location is another strong point, with easy highway access and a central location close to many attractions. Overall, I would consider staying here again because of the location, comfortable rooms, and excellent front desk staff. However, management needs to address the housekeeping department, as it fell well below expectations and significantly impacted an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Front desk person to busy gaming to check in guests.
4.0I have stayed at this hotel before. One of the reasons I do is because they have someone at the front desk 24/7. Each time I have stayed here I arrived somewhere between midnight and 1:00 am. This time was no different. When I made the reservation, I let them know to expect my late arrival. In the past when I stayed here, the person working at the front desk was great and I was impressed with great service, so late at night. On Saturday, April 11, I stayed again. I did call and let them know to expect me about 1 am, and to confirm someone would be at the front desk. When we arrived (after 12 hours of driving), there was no one in sight. There was no bell, no one in the office behind the front desk, etc. So I called the hotel number. The phone rang and rang and rang. We walked up and down the hall to try and find someone. The laundry room was empty. There was no noise or sounds of someone vacuming or doing laundry or anything. We called again. I checked the lounge, the door was locked up. We called again. Finally, I went to the gaming room, expecting it to be locked. There was a woman sitting there playing games on one of the machines. She looked up at me and then back at her game. She did not ask if she could help me. I finally asked if anyone else was in there as I was looking for a staff person. She did not answer at first, but looked back at her game. Then she sighed and said she could help and finally got up. She wore no name tag or anything that identified her as staff. I said that we had been calling the hotel phone for a very long time and trying to find staff. She claimed that she had been vacuuming and did not hear the phone (we had walked up and down the hall and saw no one and heard no vacuuming. You could see the little hall to the gaming area and no one had walked by the entire time we were trying to get ahold of her. She had been gaming the entire time. The room was fine. It was clean, mattresses were a bit worn, but not bad. Everything else was fine. I imagine it does get boring working the overnight or late night shift, but to completely ignore the phone and hotel guests so that you can game is not acceptable. We will stay there again, but I hope she is not the one working when we do.

BUG INVASION
2.0This was probably THE worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. The amount of bugs crawling around my room was of biblical proportions. I think I killed 15 stink bugs crawling around the room. On my bed, the curtains, the floor, the AC unit, and in the bathroom. On top of that, I pulled back my sheets and a fly came crawling out. There were even more dead bugs and moths on the floor. I could hardly sleep because I was afraid of bugs crawling all over me while I sleep. The elevator sounded like it was going to crash and fall to the basement. The whole building smelled old and musty. Maybe use some of that casino money to hire a bug exterminator?
