Charming and very convenient to Shannon airport!

This is a perfect spot if flying into or out of Shannon airport. It is only a short taxi ride away and well worth it. You get the convenience of easy access to the airport, but with the peaceful charm of a country house. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The common areas downstairs are very comfy and perfect for relaxing with a drink (there is a bar onsite). The room and bathroom were large and comfortable. Do not skip the restaurant! I had dinner and breakfast there, and both were excellent. There is also a really nice and easy loop to walk from the hotel, which I did after dinner. It was a quiet country lane; I passed sheep and horses, which added to the charm. Overall, just a really nice stay. I would definitely return. Highly recommend!

Die Lage ist schön ruhig, dafür halt auch sehr abgelegen. Es stehen Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Beim Frühstück findet man eine Schale mit frischem Obst. Fleisch und Fisch im Restaurant waren ok, aber als Beilage bekommt man Pommes, Kartoffelpüree und Bratkartoffeln (?) Das Gemüse war nicht nur ungewürzt, sondern nicht mal im Salzwasser gekocht.

− Leider haben wir uns überhaupt nicht wohlgefühlt und sind nur 1 anstatt 2 Nächte geblieben. Fairerweise muss man sagen, dass uns die 2. Nacht erstattet wurde. Wir hatten zwei Zimmer gebucht. Eines im Haupthaus war rein optisch ganz ok. Das andere im Nebengebäude erinnerte an ein schäbiges Motel in den USA. Ein dunkles Zimmer ohne Charme mit einer alten abgewetzten Einrichtung. Die Beleuchtung katastrophal. Das WLAN war in diesem Zimmer quasi inexistent. Im Zimmer des Haupthauses ging es einigermassen. Handyempfang hat man im ganzen Haus kaum. Das ganze Hotel inkl. beider Zimmer wirkten schmuddelig und altbacken. In beiden Zimmern fanden wir im Bad Haare der Vorgänger. Die Fenster sind dreckig. Im Bad sind die Spiegel dreckig. In einem Zimmer gab es braune Flecken auf dem Handtuch und schimmelige Fugen. Im anderen Zimmer war das Bettlaken fleckig und wir fanden Abfall neben dem Bett. Da fragt man sich schon, wie nach jedem Gast geputzt wird und, ob die Handtücher und die Bettwäsche ausgetauscht werden. Überall sind Spinnen. Auch in den Zimmern. Beim Frühstücksraum krabbeln Babyspinnen auf dem Tisch herum. Ein Alptraum für Menschen mit einer Spinnenphobie. Dazu Ameisen. Vor dem Essen wird man in einen Salon gesetzt, wo man das Essen bestellen muss. Dieser Salon besteht aus zusammengewürfelten alten Möbeln. Frühstück gibt es erst ab 8:30 Uhr. Mein Partner wollte kurz nach 8:00 Uhr nach draussen. Alles war verriegelt und die Haupttüre fiel ins Schloss, so dass er nicht mehr ins Haus kam. Nach langem klingeln kam die Hausherrin verschlafen in einem alten Bademantel. Beim Frühstück hat man die Wahl zwischen ein paar warmen Speisen. Das Büffet besteht aus Cerealien, Joghurt und Obst. Käse, Wurst, Croissants, Gebäck, Pflanzenmilch findet man nicht. Die Spiegeleier werden lieblos serviert. Beim Buchen habe ich mich von den positiven Bewertungen verleiten lassen, was ein Fehler war. Wir waren schon in anderen Landgasthöfen.
