Faulty Towers

The receptionist was very good

− The room was very hot and the air con unit did not blow out cold air. A desk top fan had been put in the room, which indicated that the hotel were already aware of this issue. The pool in the spa area was being used by multiple family groups all at the same time, it was more like a communal pool in a sports centre, rather that a spa, which ended any chance of a relaxing break. The meal we booked in the restaurant was the worst experience I can remember in a long time. All four of our starters were bland, the potted crab dish came out looking like a warm dip and was in a desert bowl. The table had jam on it, left over from breakfast, that we had to ask the staff to clean off before we looked at the menus. A bottle of wine was dumped on the table unopened and left to us to sort out. Drinks from the bar took an average of 20 minutes to arrive while we were waiting for our food to arrive. The meal took 2 and a half hours to complete because of the huge delays out of the kitchen. The restaurant staff appeared to be sixth formers working a part time evening job. There was one older member of staff on shift but they disappeared after they left the unopened wine bottle on our table. This left the student workers to fend for themselves and to deal with the growing number of complaints from most of the customers in the restaurant. On the Saturday, the main bar was unable to serve draft beers because of a malfunction of the equipment, resulting in being served warm bottled beer at excessive prices. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was just as bad. Despite there being plenty of unused tables, none of them had been cleared away and reset for the next customers, we had to ask a member of staff to clear a table for us. When they finished cleaning the table, they left the cleaning equipment on top of the table next to us and walked off without clearing that table either.

Really excellent place to stay

It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The food was great. The Spa was lovely. There were loads of complimentary drinks in the room too, as an added bonus.

We loved our stay at the Norton Park. We were travelling so never had as much time as we wished. Big comfy rooms. Beautiful grounds and buildings. Best part was the food - amazing!

− Preis-Leistung im Restaurant, weil die Portionsgrösse sehr überschaubar war (2 Stückchen Lamm am Knochen für fast £ 30).
