I recently stayed at this resort from July 21–22 to celebrate my 40th birthday. I had been looking forward to a relaxing getaway, with one of the highlights being a spa treatment on the morning of my birthday followed by time at the adults-only pool. Unfortunately, upon arrival I was informed that the adults-only pool was closed for a private event. This was never disclosed when I booked my reservation, and it was extremely disappointing, as it was one of the main reasons I chose the property for my birthday celebration. My experience was further impacted by a few service and room issues. The check-in process felt dismissive, leaving me feeling more like an inconvenience than a valued guest. When I arrived in my room (4205), I found the shower to be in an unacceptable condition—it appeared dirty and was not something I felt comfortable using. I attempted to contact the front desk around 5:00 a.m. so I could shower before my scheduled spa treatment, but I remained on hold for more than 15 minutes without ever reaching anyone. During checkout, I shared photos of the room with the staff for review. While I was asked if I was seeking compensation, my intention was simply to provide honest feedback about my experience. I requested an email address so I could document my concerns in writing, as I believe feedback is valuable in helping improve the guest experience. Although my birthday stay fell short of expectations, I have already booked another visit because my daughter truly enjoyed the property and would love to celebrate her birthday there. I sincerely hope our next stay reflects the exceptional hospitality and service that this resort strives to provide. I share this review in the hope that these concerns are addressed for future guests. I truly believe this property has great potential, and I look forward to having a much better experience on our next visit.

Great location and property!

This place was awesome! Great staff, food, and amenities. While I was there for business (conference), we managed to make it a great staycation in the beautiful Coty of Napa.

Disappointing

This is our 4th time staying at this hotel, and up until the last time, all stays were wonderful. This time however, it was just one problem after another. We've arrived at 4:30, despite advising them earlier (on their request) that we would arrive by 4pm. They couldn't check us in till 5:30, stating that room wasn't ready. I've requested a crib for the second room at booking, at check in and once more couple hours after check in - no crib has been delivered for the duration of our stay, desire the answer of "it will be right up" each time. I do want to mention that Olive and Hay (the on site restaurant) is still good, except orzo in the lamb dish was inedible - oversalted on 2 different plates.

Great Hotel - Horrible Organization for Check-in

Great hotel - but ABSOLUTELY horrific check in experience. For the $$ paid for this hotel you would think they would be a little more organized. Long story short - Check in was 4:00 - our group called and confirmed a early check in twice before our arrival. Upon arrival told we would have to wait until the normal 4:00 check in time (fine) - 4:00 comes around and told they oversold the hotel and there are no rooms available and it would be 30 minutes. 4:30 told still not available and they will text us when the room is ready. 5:15 check in at desk and told you're room has been ready but we don't have enough staff and are too busy to send out the texts. Also, there is no parking by your room left so you will have to wait for us to cart you and your stuff over.

Exceptional Service & Memorable Dining ✨

We had such a wonderful dining experience at Olive & Hay. The food was excellent, the ambiance was beautiful, and what truly made our visit even more memorable was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Wilbert for taking such great care of us throughout our meal. He was warm, attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. His genuine hospitality made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Olive & Hay, for a lovely experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Just an okay stay

This was our second visit to the Meritage, while the grounds are nice it was disappointing that many of the amenities were not available again. Both visits we have not been able to utilize the bowling alley since it was closed for private events the entire stay, though the facility was completely empty. No ability for early or late checkout and the lawns were closed. Would not give this hotel another chance after two unsuccessful stays.
