Spent the night here last night 3rd april at a martin turner gig," gig was tremendous,room was very big and clean, fish and chips were to die for would do it again no hesitation excellent👍

Birthday treat with ants!

Arrived to a hotel under refurbishment, heavy rain meant the car park was badly flooded, meaning it was difficult to get to the main door without getting your feet wet. Check in was fine and reception staff were lovely. They were fully booked with large golf parties and were experiencing issues caused by a burst pipe. There was a plastic sheet covering some mould outside our room. On entering our room it seemed clean and warm. No hotel information within the room. The bathroom had ants in it and we then noticed they were in the bedroom as well. We spoke to the staff who apologised and told us they were fully booked and were unable to move us. They did go into the room and spray it while we were at dinner. The restaurant was excellent, staff were helpful and food was good standard pub grub. Day two maintenance came to our room and said the would seal the bathroom and put ant powder down. We were offered a room change that day. But we said we would see what the outcome of the sealant and powder, as we were heading out for the day. On our return the work had been carried out and we decided to stay as we were checking out the next day. Unfortunately, the ants returned! As mentioned, the staff were brilliant, it was a little disappointing they did not offer something in form of compensation for the issues. For example a free drink or discount on evening meal. This break was given to me as a 50th birthday gift and we were looking forward to it. The staff were fantastic and cannot complain about them at all. And I do believe that once the refurbishment has been completed and they retain the staff they have, this will be an excellent hotel.

Awful please avoid

Awful place to stay. Please avoid. Rooms very tired and run down. Our bathroom was dirty and bed looked like it had not been changed. Staff not helpful at all. Maids were not interested in complaints. Won’t be returning

Disgrace

I live in Spain & I booked the hotel in December as I know most of the staff as it was in my old home town. I was travelling alone so new I would feel safe. Well yesterday I was travelling back to Kinross for 4 nights to surprise my sister for her birthday. Got to the airport and went right through security. Noticed on my phone a message from booking.com to say that the Green Hotel had cancelled my booking. I phoned to be told that they didnt have a room for me! ( booked 2 months ago) I was so upset & angry that I came back through security and jumped in a taxi and went home. Yes I could have stayed with numerous friends but if I had wanted to do that then I wouldnt have booked in the first place. I'm not good with change as I like to plan well in advance. If they had even told me a few days before but telling me on the day was shocking! To them I am just a booking.com faceless customer!. Not Happy! 😭.

A most welcome surprise in Kinross

We were looking for somewhere to have a cup of tea on our way back from Edinburgh to Aberdeen, and this was one of the few places open after 4pm on a Friday. We were a bit cautiious as the exterior did look a bit shabby - but as it was yet another wet and dark afternoon, I'm not sure that anywhere would've looked great! As soon as we walked through the door we realised that the interior is so much better. The bar area was very comfortable, with great sofas. We were amazed to find that the bar had cakes - I ordered a scone, which was served warm with butter and really good jam (so often the let down when it's served in those horrible plastic packets). It was really delicious, so all of my expectations were proved wrong. My husband had a muffin, equally good. Tea and coffee were also fine. The barman who served us was very friendly and helpful, as was the lasy at reception. I see that people have complained about the toilets. I'm not sure if there are several throughout the ground floor, but the ones we used were absolutely fine. We'd definitely stop here again.

We come here for live music at Mundell Music at rear of hotel to support live music Every time I come I feel disappointed Bar food is ok staff friendly but the place lacks a soul Any nice decor can be forgotten the minute you enter the toilets on ground floor A mixture of infant school toilets and middle class old fashioned wallpaper from the past when times were better Live music venue toilets are a joke Feel like public toilets Nothing warm or inviting Please DO Something !!! It’s so embarrassing Only good thing was there was bleach in the toilet
