8.0The location was perfect as a family, within walking distance to many tourist sites & attractions and the subway, but not in the noisy hub. Lovely rooftop bar (adults only), the use of a fitness room, and the beds were comfortable. The staff at the front door were very helpful and friendly with the kids, happy to call a cab & give advice.
− No water provided in the room or at reception (you had to fill up bottles in the fitness center). They changed the towels too often despite us asking not to (not environmentally friendly), the sliding door of the bathroom did not provide any intimacy (there was a large gap between the door & the wall). Housekeeping regularly turned the AC down to 60 even though we had it on 76!
Very disappointing. I will no longer stay there or recommend it.
2.0− I used to stay at the Shelburne regularly before COVID—it was my hotel of choice. Now it’s dark, dingy, and visibly rundown. I couldn't even close the drain in the tub to take a bath—it didn't work. It's a sad, down-at-the-heels property that used to be light, energetic, and fun.
