A decent hotel, overly pricey, and with major shortcomings.
4.0I found the hotel decent, and the prices absurd for what you got. We were in a "King Deluxe". This was a relatively small room, barely big enough for the king bed. "Deluxe"? Really? I'd hate to be in a "Standard". The mattress was on a wooden platform, not a box spring. And there was no place to sit in the room! No chairs, No desk. Nothing. Sure, there is a balcony. But that is not very helpful in winter, or in 90+ degree heat we had in July 2026. I have stayed in thousands of hotel rooms. Never have I been in one without a place to sit. No place to relax, read, look at your laptop, etc. Ridiculous. The prices are exorbitant and that is not all. You are taxed to death on top of that -- about 22% in taxes and fees, and another 10% in the ubiquitous and ridiculous "resort fee" that hotels love to stick you with (which is also taxed). So look at that room rate -- then add 35% to get your real charge. I will say that the staff were great, top to bottom, when they were available. They were severely understaffed, which is a management issue. Front desk phone frequently went unanswered, as did valet / bell desk. Really, for $500 a night all in, I expected much more.

9.0We loved the pool and the Pool Bistro. We also loved having the marketplace where we could get coffee and breakfast every day.
− We did not love that the menu in the restaurant was the same menu for room service. There wasn't enough variety for meal options.

− The king room was small. Other than the bed there was only a straight chair to sit on. Prior to the store opening there was coffee offered in the lobby. Once the store opened that coffee was taken away and you had to buy it. Most hotels offer coffee in their lobby all the time. Some amenities in other hotels are standard that were missing in the grand.
Antiquated but Clean
6.0Overall, the hotel was clean. Housekeeping does a good job. Walls are thick enough not to hear neighbors, aside from doors slam closed, some scraping above, and utilities running, like water.
− Upon arrival, checkin was slow, with only a couple of people in front of me. Once in the room, it was disappointing to discover a hotel as pricey as this one still only has Direct TV with mostly only shows from the 1990s playing and a tons of commercials. A Roku box to login to one's own Netflix account seems standard with alleged lower star hotels. This hotel needs to update the TV system. The window opened, but had no screen. There were minimal bugs, but still there should be screens. The room did not have a "do not disturb" sign in it. I called the front desk 5 times to have one brought up,, nobody answered the phone. I made the long walk to the front desk and asked for one. The gal didn't have one on hand, said they contact housekeeping and would have one placed on my door. I went to bed, slept terribly, though it wasn't horribly uncomfortable. Woke early and was partially ready when housekeeping knocked on my door. I opened it and told housekeeping the front desk gal was supposed to get me a sign the night before. Again, housekeeping is good, she appologized and said she'd get a sign and put it on the door and immediately did. I doubt the front desk gal said anything to housekeeping. The in-hotel "convenience" store was very inconvenient, with it closing at 3p. Making it almost impossible to actually get things when they are open. But, if you manage to get there when it's open it's decent and they made good coffee. The bathroom lighting was too dim to properly apply makeup. The rest of the bedroom lights also were not bright enough for anyone to put makeup on in the room with only for laps or table lamps, causing the bathroom to be excessively crowded as it had slightly better lighting than the bedroom. There was also no fan in the bathroom, causing trips to the bathroom to be clearly heard by those in the bedroom.
We were there for a wedding at the top of the mountain, and had a wonderful visit.
10.0It was a beautiful facility in a beautiful setting.
− It was a bit pricey. We would have stayed longer if it was cheaper.
