Great proximity to Whyte Ave. Comfy beds Friendly staff Quiet lobby Late night pizza on site

− Sometimes the hallways can be really noisy. Thin walls between rooms. Parking is off site and sketchy. I’ve stayed twice and never had an issue - just don’t leave anything in your car.

Mein Aufenthalt im Varscona war überaus angenehm. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, guter Service, gut ausgestattete große Zimmer in bester Lage von Edmonton. Die Nächte waren bei geöffnetem Fenster laut, aber das gehört in diesem lebendigen Viertel dazu und bei geschlossenem Fenster war es erträglich.

Location is the best part of the hotel

The location! Beds were very comfortable. Although we didn’t get our room cleaned every day, housekeeping checked in with us daily.

− Front desk was hit and miss. The gentleman that checked us in was great, a few other interactions were on par. The lady who checked us out barely said a word to us; didn’t ask us how our stay was (we stayed for 5 nights), didn’t make eye contact, it was strange. Both my husband and I work in hospitality if the lady doesn’t want to interact perhaps she should work behind the scenes. The housekeepers had better customer service skills than she did. We had to run the hot water for 10 minutes in order to get hot water for the shower - were advised by a front desk clerk to do this because “we are having issues with this and it’s being addressed”. We loved staying at the Varscona, haven’t been to Edmonton since 2023 and will most likely stay elsewhere next time.
