I’ll never use an Extended Stay.
1.0What did I like about my experience with Extended Stay? Nothing.
− What didn’t I like? Literally anything! We’d traveled 4 hours and were about 30 minutes away from checking in, when I saw the voicemail stating they canceled the reservation we made 2 weeks earlier. They tried to charge the card we put on file before we checked in. We were bringing a different card to use upon arrival. I didn’t get the phone call because I WAS DRIVING. When I asked to speak to the supervisor, I was told to call corporate on Monday morning. I was told that the guy who answered the phone (Kevin Methew) was the actual general manager and “there was nothing he could do”. Right. The “general manager” allegedly answered the phone when I called. He didn’t offer to book me a different night, he didn’t even apologize for what happened. He was cold, insensitive, and I’ll never stay in one of the Extended Stay hotels. Because we couldn’t find another hotel on such short notice, we wound up driving through the night after the baseball game, arriving at 6am. At least the Cubs won!
