Disappointing!

The Inn is not what it used to be. Our room decor was not as nice as rooms we have stayed in prior at the Inn. The worst part about our stay is the Inn is lit at night with a string of white bulbs on lower and upper balcony. They were on all night which made sleeping restfully very difficult. The experience was disappointing. The original owners have moved on unfortunately.

The room was lovely, big, quiet and super clean. It had everything we needed including a fridge and microwave. The owner was amazing and very attentive and hospitable to us (and to other guests staying there who also said that). One example- there is an area to sit outside our room. There was a rocking chair and I sat in our beach chair. The next day after we returned to our room - the owner had put a second rocking chair! So thoughtful and he went above and beyond! I love staying at this family owned business! It is also in a great location - near Nags Head and Cape Hatteras National Seashore beaches , grocery stores, restaurants, local attractions , etc.

The operator was very rude. There was no one on the motel premises after 8:30 pm. I arrived there at that time after receiving text messages telling me which 'cottage' I was to stay in and what the WiFi code was. There was no key or code given in the text to allow entry. After going to the office and finding no one there and calling two different phone numbers, I reached someone who told me what the code was. I then entered the 'cottage' which was really a very small room with a bed, a TV that didn't work and very small bathroom with no soap or other amenities other than two towels. The room smelled of urine and some other disgusting smell that was probably used to cover the urine smell. I tried several times to reach the operator. After texting and calling the two numbers he had contacted me on previously with no success, I texted the operator that I couldn't even get the tv, which was very old, to get a signal and that I was leaving if I didn't get a call in 5 minutes. The operator texted me back sometime after 5 minutes that I needed to unplug and re plug the TV to get it to work. Even though that was not my responsibility, I had already tried that before I called and texted the operator. When is told him that, he responded that I could leave if I couldn't get the tv to work. Then he hung up. I called back and asked him if we could have a rational conversation and he told me to leave. I then booked another motel at a much higher rate due to the lateness of the night in late June at a beach area. I demand a full refund of the charges that were paid through your company to this disrespectful, deceitful operator. I made this reservation based on the photos online and the information provided which is deceptive at best. I have texted the operator regarding my experience with his operation. I have used your company on numerous other occasions to book reservations. This is the worst experience I have had by far.
