Good location in Richmond. An old building which does mean uneven floors. Good breakfast and Nigel was helpful

The location was good. The breakfast was good. I must say the towels bed sheets were immaculate also tablecloths and napkins were spotless.

We arrived at 4pm to check in. Rang doorbell and knocked on door for 4-5 minutes now answer we sat on chairs outside building 2 more couples turned up we explained we had tried but they tried no answer I looked up on Booking.com and got phone number rang. The owner answered I explained that we had all arrived he said he'd gone home? as he didn't feel well we let ourselves in and found our rooms no welcome drink as advertise? To say we were disappointed is an understatement we saw no one till breakfast. Two ladies who were doing coast to coast walk had a room with a bath they asked for a shower. It was not a boutique guest house it was run down neglected the lady serving breakfast said He had recently taken possession but on looking back at reviews on trip advisor people had complained in2023 and he replied then so it seems a patern to say he's only just taken over. It was definitely not as advertised. It spoiled our trip which we had decided we would extend our stay so glad we didn't ring and book. The other couple were going to see if they could cancel the other nights they had booked. He needs to try what others are offering for less money and not calling them boutique. He is a disgrace to Booking.com..who need to check this property out and recaterise as what it is. He'd be alot better running a café. Or his staff would. The room was a decent size but full of furniture taking all the room the floor sloped about 100mm which as an old building sound's quirky but with all the furniture leaning opening the door to enter you had to push door wide open to get past chest of drawers straight in front of you also everything electrical was plugged into various extensions? Don't trip.
