The setting is beautiful. Its a shame it was run down, dirty and customer service is awful. Got nothing but abuse when i contacted them. We did not stay, we left and were accused of staying and lying.

− When flushing the toilet is flowed up through the shower drain. Distgusting.

The location is gorgeous. The views and the tranquility of the place is almost near perfect.

− Cleanliness wasn’t up to our standards. Of course a cottage like this is a hard thing to keep clean but in our opinion it could have been a lot better.

Disappointing there are lots of rubbish bags & bins lying around property is not being maintained.

Location is in a nice area but the eco pod as it is described by the owner is an old houseboat that she said they had dragged off of the water onto land . The site is an old quarry that has been filled with water and is very rustic

− Host very insulting, rude and threatening I had to block her number due to her constant calls and messages which were abusive. Would advise anyone against staying at Couston lakes.

Honestly, the only thing that was nice is that it is isolated. Nothing around which is peaceful.

− Absolutely everything else... Once you get through the gate and drive down to the cabin, the road is full of potholes. Like everywhere. The office windows are smashed and look so grubby. (Dont even think it's used but very bad sight to arrive to) And the cabin itself was so dirty it shocked us. Food crumbs, dust and webs everywhere. Sofas were minging and covered in creepy crawlies. Holes in the material and dirty stains. Wouldn't touch the kitchen area as it was so unclean. All around the bed was also dirty, crumbs and dust everywhere. Was just disgusting, so we left within minutes and stayed at a hotel instead. Massive disappointment. On top of this, prior to staying here, I contacted the owners as what we booked from looking at the photos we expected a boathouse, but actually, they dont even have them anymore! Yet they continue to show lovely pictures of these and nice interior. So DO NOT BE FULLED. The staff I spoke to were shockingly rude, you would think they thought we were pals the way they spoke. Not professional at all. I never complain about anywhere, but this place shocked me and my husband. It's non refundable once it's been booked, too. But regardless of this, we were more than happy to pay for a hotel instead because it was so bad.

We had the most wonderful stay here! I stayed with my daughter, and we were completely charmed by the place. It’s located right next to a lovely little river, which made the whole atmosphere incredibly peaceful and relaxing. The accommodation itself was absolutely lovely, clean, and welcoming. It was the perfect mother-daughter getaway and the owners are absolutely down to earth ! we would love to come back again. Highly recommended!"

The property was lovely and clean, apart from the chairs on the Deck there was a build op of birds dirt. They had not been clean in a very long time

− Having no running water, no help from the host. Some one should have been out to help or loved to another boat house as there was only me and next door there. I have videos showing the water there spluttered out for a second then nothingm
