The Sanctuary is exactly what the name suggests, a peaceful place to stay, despite being a large caravan site next to the retail park. You really wouldn't know it was there!... and having M&S within walking distance was handy for picking up a few treats during our stay! The caravan is well equipped and has everything you need. The kitchen was particularly well stocked with cooking equipment, making it easy to prepare meals. The only thing we couldn't find was a tea towel, but we always bring one with us anyway, so it wasn't an issue. Cleanliness is important to us and the caravan was spotless throughout. We were pleasantly surprised by this, especially as it's dog friendly (although we didn't bring ours), so it's clear the property is well looked after. The beds were comfortable and the main bedroom is a good size. The twin room is fairly compact for adults, but it was perfectly adequate for our stay. The bathroom was fab and the shower had good temperature control and pressure! The site itself is well maintained and the riverside café and river are nice additions that would appeal to a lot of visitors - Especially for those wishing to paddle. We also appreciated having Sky and Netflix available. It's a small touch, but it was nice not to have to log into our own accounts and it made for a relaxing evening in. Knaresborough is only a five-minute drive away and is well worth a visit. Parking can be difficult, so it's worth arriving early or walking if that's an option. We also had lunch at The Carriages after seeing it recommended in the welcome book - It was lovely. Overall, we had a super stay and would definitely recommend The Sanctuary to friends and family. Everything was included like bedding, towels etc. and the location was great for the Great Yorkshire Show!

Great site and lovely accommodation. Abbie was a great host, friendly and helpful. The Sanctuary was clean, comfy and well appointed.

My stay was lovely we had really hot weather had to cut it short as my dog was really hot as temp was 38 degrees so had

− Blackout blinds not to my taste room was too dark for me thats just me.
